This story is one from around 2010. I was on rotation at the Hel Desk, and a nurse calls in and she complained that a piece of equipment was down and she needed IT to fix it. I asked her what kind of equipment it was. She said it was medical equipment, which is more the province of our Biomed team (good luck getting them to fix anything at all, let alone getting them out of their chairs), and the equipment’s been down a year.
A bit stunned, I asked if she had called anyone previously about the issue, and what she’s been doing in the last year, since she was the one person on that ward that was supposed to be using it. After a couple seconds of silence, she just hung up the phone.
